Some of my earliest memories were gathered around a table.
Not a perfect table. Not a fancy table. Just a place where family gathered consistently, where meals were shared, and where people were always welcome.
Growing up, I learned that food was about much more than what was served on the plate. It was about connection. Comfort. Hospitality. Faithfulness in the everyday moments.
There was something steady about gathering together at the end of the day. Conversations were shared, laughter filled the room, and people lingered long after the meal was finished. Even now, those simple moments still shape the kind of home I want to create for my own family.
I did not realize then how much those ordinary meals would influence the way I would someday gather my own family around the table.
As I began raising a family of my own, the table became the center of our home too.
Our days were full — homeschooling, busy schedules, growing children, stretched budgets, and the constant rhythm of everyday life. Many meals were simple. Some were rushed. Some were loud. Few looked picture-perfect.
But over time, I realized that consistency mattered more than perfection.
The table became the place where we paused together. It became the place where stories were told, prayers were prayed, lessons were learned, and memories quietly formed in the middle of ordinary life.
I learned how to stretch ingredients, cook from scratch, prepare meals on a budget, and make what we had work for a large family. Sometimes that meant reusing leftovers in creative ways. Sometimes it meant simple comfort meals that could feed many people around the table.
The older I get, the more I realize that gathering together does not require elaborate meals or a perfectly decorated home. Some of the sweetest moments happen around the simplest food.
Then our table changed.
Like many families beginning a gluten-free journey, we quickly realized it was not as simple as just swapping ingredients. Suddenly everything felt unfamiliar — grocery shopping, baking, meal planning, eating away from home, even family favorites we had made for years.
At first, it felt overwhelming.
Some recipes completely failed. Ingredients were expensive. Gluten-free food often felt complicated, disappointing, or out of reach for a large family budget.
There were many moments I wondered if we would ever find a new normal.
But slowly, little by little, we learned.
We learned how to adapt favorite meals. We learned which ingredients worked best for our family. We learned how to cook gluten-free food that still felt warm, comforting, filling, and worth gathering around.
Most importantly, we learned that although our food had changed, the purpose of our table had not.
Our table was still a place for family, encouragement, hospitality, and togetherness.
This space was created from that journey.
Gather Around the Gluten Free Table is not about perfect meals or expensive ingredients. It is about creating a home where people feel welcomed, nourished, and gathered together — even in changing seasons.
Here you will find simple gluten-free meals, practical ideas, budget-friendly tips, favorite products, encouragement, and reminders that gathering around the table still matters.
Because sometimes the table may look different than we expected.
But different does not mean broken.
Our table has been renewed.
And around it, we are still finding grace, gratitude, laughter, good food, and time together — one meal at a time.
